Privacy policy

This policy explains what data Mosso collects, why, and what you can do about it. Mosso is run by [company name, registered address, registration number], the data controller. Questions: privacy@mosso.video.

The short version

• You can use the editor without an account. Your projects then stay in your browser and never reach us.
• The free tools and the downloads on the library pages work in your browser too. Files you open in them are never uploaded.
• With an account we store your email address, your projects, your brand kits and the files you upload, so you can open them anywhere.
• We do not sell your data, show ads or use tracking cookies.
• Payments are handled by Paddle. We never see your card details.
• Exports (video, GIF, Lottie) are made on your own device.

What we collect

Account data

Your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google. We use them to create your account, sign you in and contact you about your account.

Your content

Projects, brand kits, and images or logos you upload to your account. We store them only to give them back to you. You can export or delete them at any time.

Usage data

Simple product events (for example "exported a GIF" or "opened a template") linked to your account, so we can see which features work. For visitors without an account we only count events, with no identifier.

AI features

When you use an AI feature, the words you type and the project you are working on are sent to our AI provider to produce the result. We keep the number of runs and their cost, not the text you typed. Our AI providers do not use this data to train their models.

Payment data

Paddle is our reseller and merchant of record. Paddle processes your payment details, invoices and taxes under its own privacy policy. We receive your subscription status and a customer reference.

The free tools and the library

The Lottie viewer, the converters and the downloads on the library pages run on your device. The files you open, and the files they make, are not sent to us or to anyone else. When you press "Edit it in Mosso", your file goes from one browser tab to the other, still on your device.

Who processes data for us

• Supabase (accounts, database and file storage), hosted in the European Union.
• Vercel (website and app hosting).
• Paddle (payments, invoices, taxes).
• Anthropic (AI features), only when you use them.
• Our email provider, to send sign-in and account emails.

Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, it does so under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

Cookies and browser storage

We only use what the app needs to keep you signed in and remember your settings. No advertising or tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner.

The free tools remember small choices, like the preview background, in your browser's storage. When you move a file from one tool to another, it waits in your browser for up to ten minutes and is then deleted. None of this leaves your device.

How long we keep data

As long as your account is open. Projects you move to the trash are deleted after 30 days. When you delete your account we delete your account data, projects and files. Invoices are kept by Paddle as the law requires.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data, object to how we use it, and complain to your data protection authority. You can export and delete everything yourself in the app's settings, or write to privacy@mosso.video.
