Questions
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The GIF is made in your browser, on your device. Your file never leaves it.
Can the GIF be transparent?
Yes. Pick Transparent. GIF pixels can only be fully see-through or fully solid, so soft edges are blended into a page colour you choose. Set it to the colour of the page the GIF will sit on and the edges look clean.
Why is my GIF so big?
A GIF stores every frame as pixels, so it grows fast with size and frame rate. A smaller size, 15 to 24 fps, or a shorter animation makes a much lighter file. For websites and apps, the Lottie itself is usually far smaller than any GIF.
How long can the animation be?
Up to 1,200 frames, for example 40 seconds at 30 fps. Lower the frame rate for longer animations.
What frame rate should I pick?
A GIF at 30 fps looks smooth and is a good default. Browsers slow down GIFs faster than 50 fps, so we stop there. For small, light GIFs, 15 fps is often enough.
Does the GIF loop?
Yes. It loops forever, like most GIFs.
Why is part of my animation missing?
Some After Effects features do not work in Lottie players, and expressions are never run here. Open the file in the Lottie viewer to see what it uses.
Can I make the animation myself?
Yes. In Mosso you make animations from a blank canvas or the library, in your brand colours, then export a GIF, an MP4 or a Lottie from the same project.
