Make Telegram stickers

Start with a short vector animation. The Telegram sticker preset writes a .tgs file and checks it against Telegram rules. A regular .json download is a starting file, not a finished Telegram sticker.

Use the sticker preset

  1. Open an example below in Mosso. Keep the art inside the canvas and make the last frame join the first.

  2. Click Export. Under Where it goes, choose Telegram sticker.

  3. The preset uses 512 x 512 pixels, 60 frames per second, up to 3 seconds and a maximum file size of 64 KB.

  4. Read the export checks. If the animation is too long, shorten it or use the speed-up option and check the faster movement.

  5. Fix failed checks, export the .tgs file and read the checks on the finished file.

Upload the sticker

  1. Open @Stickers in Telegram and start a new animated sticker pack.

  2. Send the .tgs file as a file, then choose an emoji for it.

  3. Follow the pack instructions and test the sticker in a chat.

Fix a rejected file

Telegram restricts images, live text, masks, effects, expressions and several shape features. Use vector paths and turn text into shapes. Mosso fixes some features during export and lists the ones you need to change.

If the file is too large, remove unnecessary shapes or simplify the animation. Keep it looped and inside the canvas. Passing the Mosso checks does not guarantee that Telegram will accept every file.

For artwork that needs pictures or effects, try the separate Telegram video sticker preset. Telegram requires VP9 WebM, no audio, a longest side of 512 pixels, at most 3 seconds, at most 30 frames per second and at most 256 KB. Mosso can fall back to VP8 if VP9 encoding is unavailable, so check the codec before uploading.

Check Telegram sticker requirements if an upload is rejected.

Free downloads and editable examples

The editor and every export format are free, with no card and no Mosso watermark. Library downloads need a free account. You can download up to 50 library animations a day, with the limit resetting at midnight UTC. Each download contains one animation.

Open an example below to try its look. Use its download buttons to get Lottie JSON or dotLottie through your account, or choose Edit this in Mosso to change the layers and export another format. A preview file is for playback, not an account download link.

Create a free account or sign in to download from the library. Read the library licence before sharing the finished work.
