Animate text
Any text layer can animate its letters, words or lines one after another. It is one switch and a few settings.
Turn it on
Select a text layer.
In the inspector, switch on Animate the letters.
Pick a Style, then choose whether to animate By letter, word or line.
The eight styles
| Style | What each part does |

| Rise | Rises into place from below |
| Fade | Fades in |
| Pop | Grows in from small |
| Drop | Drops into place from above |
| Slide | Slides in from the side |
| Spin | Turns into place |
| Typewriter | Appears one at a time, as if typed |
| Soft in | Comes into focus |
Set the timing
- Start: when the first part begins.
- Each: how long every part takes to arrive.
- Delay: the gap between one part and the next.
- Move: how far parts travel, in pixels, for rise, drop and slide.
- Easing: how each part speeds up and slows down.
- Play out: plays the whole thing backwards at the end, so the text leaves the way it came.
Script fonts
Joined-up fonts like Pacifico animate a whole word at a time, so the letters never break apart.
Or ask for it
Select the text and tell the AI: "make the selected text rise in word by word". It sets the same switches you would.
How it exports
Animated text is saved as plain shapes in the file. It plays the same in every Lottie player, and nobody needs your fonts installed to see it.
